All in a Fog
Alex dumped his suitcase and his mongoose in his bedroom, then he ran downstairs and went into the main drawing room. His parents and his baby brother were waiting for him.
'Oh my God, there he is!' said Alex.
'Yes, here he is,' said Evy. 'Would you like to hold him, Alex?'
Alex nodded enthusiastically. Evy smiled, then she transferred her younger son into the arms of her older son. Alex stared at the baby for several seconds, then his expression completely melted.
'Isn't he fantastic?' said Alex. 'Oh my God, he's so cute! Hey there, little guy. Do you know who I am? I'm your big brother.'
Rick and Evy exchanged a smile and gave each other a loving squeeze.
'What's his name?' Alex asked.
'Oh, Rick!' said Evy. 'I can't believe you didn't tell him that on the way over from Egypt!'
'I thought we should do it together, honey,' said Rick.
'Oh, how sweet of you,' Evy said with a smile. 'Now that we're all here, you go ahead a

Ardeth Bay was in the final stages of collating a stack of papers when Alex, Yanit and Fadil entered his room. Ardeth put the papers into his desk drawer before fixing his three visitors with a look.
'Alex, I suppose it would be useless to say that it was just you yourself that I wanted to talk to?' he said.
'It sure would,' said Alex. 'If you send a message telling me that you want to talk about something incredibly important, you shouldn't be surprised when the entire Supreme Council turns up in response.'
'No, I'm not surprised,' said Ardeth. 'I actually have two pieces of news for you, Alex, and at least one of them might easily be classed as a private matter, but I don't suppose that makes a difference?'
'There's nothing you can tell me that I don't want Yanit and Fadil to hear,' Alex said firmly.
'Very well, then,' said Ardeth. 'The two pieces of information fall rather nicely into the categories of go
Episode 5 - My Brother's Keeper (Part 2)'He's been behind that rock a very long time,' Yanit remarked.
'Maybe the ball wasn't so easy to find,' said Alex.
'Ah, look – there he is!' said Fadil. 'Safin! Safin, come over here!'
Slowly and mechanically, Safin altered his course and walked up to Fadil, Yanit and Alex.
'We have some very good news for you, Safin,' said Fadil. 'We've just decided that soccer skills are to become a permanent fixture of the Medjai training regime, and I am to be Head Soccer Coach!'
'Congratulations, bro,' said Safin.
'Ah, but that's not the best news,' said Alex. 'I saw what you were doing out there, Safin.'
'You... you saw what I was doing?' said Safin, sounding uncomfortable with the idea.
'On the football pitch,' Alex elaborated. 'Your footwork is something very special, and for that reason we've decided that you should be Junior Assistant Soccer Coach! How does that sound?'
'It sounds very nice,' said Safin. 'Thank you.'
'How about that, Saf?' Fadil grinned, slapping his brother on the back

Alex and the Minotaur were sitting opposite each other on the floor of the Great Cavern, both with their eyes closed. Alex was holding one of the Minotaur's hands between both of his.
'You're remembering when Imhotep opened the doorway to the Underworld in Gibraltar,' said Alex. 'And now you're thinking about the battle with the Jinn. You're picturing me... I'm plucking Imhotep out of the whirlwind and throwing him through the portal.'
'Enough,' said the Minotaur, opening his eyes and withdrawing his hand. 'That is quite amazing, Alex. It has only been two months, and this new power has developed further than I ever believed possible.'
'It's developed too far, if you ask me,' said Alex.
'In what way?'
'I keep getting flashes of what people are thinking whenever I touch them, even if we just brush past each other in the corridor or something.'
'We can work on that,' said the Minotaur. 'It's just a matter of

Jack of All Trades
Alex was standing in the centre of the Great Cavern with a small shield strapped onto his right arm and a blindfold over his eyes. The Minotaur was standing about ten metres away from him. Making as little noise as possible, the Minotaur drew a handful of daggers from behind his back and threw them at Alex in quick succession. The sound of metal on metal rang through the cave as Alex used the shield to deflect the daggers and send them tumbling to the floor.
'Enough,' the Minotaur said at length.
'I didn't miss any, did I?' said Alex, removing the blindfold and taking a look at his handiwork.
'No,' said the Minotaur, 'you got them all again.'
Without any warning, the Minotaur removed his right hand from behind his back and hurled the final dagger at Alex. Alex caught it in his left hand and tucked it into his belt.
'Nice try,' he said, flashing the Minotaur a grin.
'I think that must be all for today,' the Minotau

Ardeth Bay was sitting at his desk, sorting through a stack of papers, when Yanit stuck her head around the door.
'You wanted to see me, Ardeth?' she said.
'Ah, Yanit,' said Ardeth, looking up at her. 'Yes, I did. I'm just going through the mail, and I've come across something that I think you'll be very interested in.'
Yanit entered the room, followed by Alex. Ardeth raised his eyebrows when he saw that their fingers were entwined, but he made no comment on the fact.
'This invoice informs me that the new plane will be delivered sometime between eight a.m. and five p.m. tomorrow,' said Ardeth, placing the piece of paper into Yanit's free hand. 'Perhaps you could try very hard not to crash this one, hmm?'
Yanit read through the invoice and smiled.
'Oh, I am glad it's finally coming,' she said. 'I'll be able to start my flight training programme with the new recruits!'
'Flight training programme?' Ardet
